Author Biographies

  • Jenny Reynaerts

    Jenny Reynaerts is senior curator of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century paintings at the Rijksmuseum. She publishes predominantly on nineteenth-century Netherlandish painting and is currently preparing a monograph on the subject.

  • Stella Versluis-van Dongen

    Stella Versluis-van Dongen is studying for a Master’s degree in Art History at the University of Utrecht, specializing in late nineteenth-century art. In 2010 and 2011 she was an intern in the Rijksmuseum’s Department of Fine and Decorative Arts where, among other things, she carried out the preliminary research for the Rembrandt & Degas exhibition. She is currently writing her ma thesis on the significance of the village of Noorden as an artists’ colony between 1875 and 1900.
