Author Biography

  • Johan de Haan

    Dr. Johan de Haan is the monuments consultant attached to the Office of the Chief Government Architect in The Hague. From 1999 to 2004 he was commissioned by the Heirs of A. de Jager Foundation in Groningen to research Groningen interiors in the 17th and 18th centuries, followed by a doctorate in this subject at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. He publishes on art and architectural history subjects and among other things is a trustee of the heritage wall coverings trust, Stichting Historische Behangsels, and the Freerk J. Veldman Foundation for research into northern furniture.
