Author Biography

  • Jan Fontein

    Jan Fontein kwam in 1950 naar het Rijksmuseum toen de collectie van het Museum van Aziatische Kunst, waar hij als assistent werkte, van het Stedelijk Museum naar de Zuidvleugel verhuisde. In 1956 werd hij conservator. Hij vertrok in 1966 naar het Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, waarvan hij tot zijn pensionering eerst conservator en later directeur was.
