Author Biography

  • Caro Verbeek

    Caro Verbeek is an art and scent historian. She previously worked in the prints and drawings department at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and at the Rijksmuseum. During her time at the Rijksmuseum she curated exhibitions on M.C. Escher, Aat Veldhoen and Dick Bruna. Her 2015 curatorial position at the museum was made possible thanks to the Sylvia en Carel Willink Fonds/Rijksmuseum Fonds and Bert & Lammie Fonds/Rijksmuseum Fonds. She is currently at VU University Amsterdam working on her dissertation In Search of Scents Lost: Reconstructing the Aromatic Heritage of the Avant-Garde, in collaboration with the Rijksmuseum and International Flavors & Fragrances.
