An Acquisition Rediscovered

Marijn Schapelhouman was appointed curator of drawings in the Rijksprentenkabinet,
Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, in 1981. Since 1991 he has been senior curator of drawings in the
same department. His main interest is in Dutch and Flemish drawings of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and he has written numerous books and articles on the subject, among them Netherlandish Drawings circa 1600 in the Rijksmuseum, The Hague 1987, Dutch Drawings of the Seventeenth Century in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam: Artists born between 1580 and 1600, Amsterdam/London 1998 (with Peter Schatborn) and Rembrandt and the Art of Drawing, Zwolle 2006.
