Men in Black

Joris Oddens holds degrees in Dutch Studies, European Studies and History from the University of Amsterdam. He recently published a book-length study on the first Dutch parliament: Pioniers in schaduwbeeld. Het eerste parlement van Nederland 1796-1798 (Nijmegen 2012). He is currently a post-doctoral researcher / lecturer at Radboud University Nijmegen and the University of Amsterdam, working on the history of the Dutch Lower House and the legacy of the ancient philosophy of Stoicism in the eighteenth-century Age of Revolution.
