Author Biographies

  • Ab Hoving

    Ab Hoving was the senior conservator of marine models in the Rijksmuseum from 1989 until his retirement this June. He has published several books on Dutch shipbuilding in the Netherlands and abroad, and countless articles on related subjects. This spring saw the publication of his Modellen vertellen, a book telling the stories behind some fifty objects in the Rijksmuseum’s maritime collection.

  • Jeroen van der Vliet

    Jeroen van der Vliet studied maritime history in Leiden and is curator of marine models at the Rijksmuseum.
