Author Biography

  • Robert Verhoogt

    Robert Verhoogt graduated in Law and Art History and wrote his PhD thesis Art in Reproduction. Nineteenth-Century Prints after Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Jozef Israëls and Ary Scheffer (Amsterdam/Chicago 2007). He has also published on Vincent van Gogh, Romanticism, the nineteenth-century art market and copyright, and the history of ballooning. At present he works as a senior policy advisor at the department for Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands.
